In a post-Giancarlo-to-the-Yankees AL East, the Red Sox can easily convince themselves that Martinez is worth the 5-year, $125 million dollar offer they’ve extended to him. Their desperation makes him seem worth it, and that will be more than enough for them.

I’m Totally Fine with the Red Sox Not Signing Giancarlo Stanton OR Shohei Otani

Both of these players seem like a lot more risk than reward.
