No, the Patriots haven’t won the Super Bowl. Yet.
But they do have something to celebrate.
Last week, the Patriots overcame the Cowboys. This week, Bill Belichick surpassed legendary Dallas Cowboys coach Tom Landry to become the NFL coach with the 3rd most wins ever. He has 271 wins. Only Don Shula and George Halas have more: 347 and 324.
After the Pats beat the Oakland Raiders 33-8 in Mexico City, team owner Robert Kraft presented his coach with the game ball.

In addition to being one of the greatest coaches of all time, Belichick is famously modest, almost always giving credit to his team, rather than seizing the spotlight for himself. He repeated his typical response to the media: “That’s a credit to our players. Players win games.” Of course, most of the players in the NFL wish they had a coach like Belichick.
The Patriots have now won a franchise-record 13 straight away games. For 17 straight seasons, he’s been at the helm of a Pats team with a .500 or better record.
